“boatoon” shall refer to the services covered by the contract and/or boatoon GmbH.
boatoon shall observe all relevant legal data protection requirements, particularly the German Federal Data Protection Act [“Bundesdatenschutsgesetz” (BDSG)] and the Teleservices Act [“Telemediengesetz” (TMG)], and is aware of the importance to users that all personal data they submit to boatoon should be handled carefully. The purpose of this privacy statement is to provide information as to how boatoon processes personal data and how this data may be exchanged with other users. This privacy statement supplements the terms and conditions of use for the products and services accessible through the website hanse.boatoon.com.

boatoon observes the following general principles regarding the protection of your personal data:

boatoon uses the following terms and definitions in this privacy statement:

  • “Personal data” refers to all stated details regarding your personal or factual circumstances.
  • Users registered on the boatoon website are referred to as “users”.
  • Services offered on the boatoon website that require registration are called “boatoon services”.
  • The personal details you have to enter when registering for boatoon services (compulsory data) are called “registration details”.

If you have subscribed to our newsletter we also will use your email address for mailing the newsletter until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime by email by clicking on the link at the end of the corresponding newsletter.


8. Information/withdrawal

You may request to be informed about your data we have stored anytime and free of charge. Moreover, you have the right to withdraw your authorization with immediate effect at any time and with future effect. In case of such withdrawal boatoon shall delete the personal data immediately unless an ordering process has not been completed fully and/or cancellation would contradict compulsory statutory storage periods. 9. Cookies

“Cookies are small files that allow us to store data specific to you on your PC or other device while you are using the boatoon services. Cookies may help us determine the frequency of use and number of users of our website and make our offers more efficient, interesting and convenient for you to use.

After you have logged in (with user name and password) boatoon services use so-called "session cookies” that allow you to be identified for the duration of your visit. Session cookies expire automatically after each session. You may store these session cookies permanently to log on automatically by using the function "Automatically log on using this computer". The session cookie will then contain parts of your login details that are encrypted. Automatic login using two (2) different PCs, however, is not possible.


boatoon services also use "permanent cookies" to store information about users who repeatedly access the boatoon services. The purpose of using these permanent cookies is to continuously improve our products and services for you. The permanent cookies do not contain personal data. The name, IP address, etc. are not saved. No profile is built using your usage behaviour.

10. Log files

Every time a page is accessed the access data is saved in a log file, i.e. the server log. The saved data set includes the following: date and time the page was accessed, IP address of the requesting PC, accessed URL, entry and exit URL.

The data saved by the server cannot be and will not be associated with natural persons. They are only evaluated for statistical purposes and then are deleted. Please understand that server log files are absolutely necessary for the safety and protection of this website.
